Teresa Breithaupt is a Special Education Teacher with Bridges Community Day School, Capistrano Unified School District working with high school students receiving Special Education services primarily meeting the eligibility criteria of Emotional Disturbance and at-risk of not graduating. The integration of her areas of discipline as a Special Education Teacher and School Psychologist led to her interest and efforts in the relationship of social-emotional and academic best practices to support the life-long success and wellbeing of the whole child. She began integrating TED Talks in her direct classroom instruction about 5 years ago. She has experienced that the vast resources of TED Talks offers the opportunity to model ‘life-long learning’ by connecting students in a high interest approach to further support and enrich their learning through exploration.
